A brighter chapter begins for Black Sherif with the release of SUN SHERIF, also billed as SUN SHERIF VOL. 1. The six-track EP arrived on September 4, 2026, through RBA / EMPIRE, marking a new creative phase for the Ghanaian star following his sophomore album, IRON BOY.
Across its compact 15-minute runtime, the project presents a noticeable shift in Black Sherif’s musical direction. Where much of his earlier work dealt with survival, uncertainty, street pressure, and existential struggles, SUN SHERIF embraces a warmer outlook filled with hope, love, self-belief, vulnerability, and personal reflection.
The EP moves between Afrobeat gospel, R&B/Soul, and street-rooted Afrosounds, allowing Black Sherif to explore different sides of his artistry without losing the emotional honesty that defines his music.
Songs such as “Expresso” establish the project’s reflective foundation, while “Run Around” explores relationship tension and uncertainty. “Forever” featuring AratheJay brings a spiritual dimension, and “Jolie” offers a more affectionate and romantic perspective.
The project continues with “Frontline” before closing with “Love Again” featuring Full Blown, a record centered on healing, vulnerability, and the possibility of opening one’s heart once more.
