Money, ambition, and street determination drive “EGO,” a collaboration between Nigerian producer and recording artist SSSoundGawd and indigenous rapper JeriQ. Released on October 16, 2026, the song appears as the fourth track on SSSoundGawd’s six-track debut EP, THE WORST.
The title takes its meaning from the Igbo word for money, placing the pursuit of financial success at the centre of the record. JeriQ brings his gritty rap style to the collaboration, using indigenous Igbo verses and straightforward street storytelling to express the determination to rise and secure a better life.
Behind the vocals, the production combines Afro-hip-hop and Afro-house influences, with a bass-heavy arrangement coloured by Amapiano-inspired sounds. SSSoundGawd, Lanokies, and D-MINOR jointly produced the track, blending rhythmic energy with the harder edge of Nigerian street rap.
The collaboration connects JeriQ’s established indigenous hip-hop approach with SSSoundGawd’s production direction, creating a record shaped around hustle and ambition. Its placement on THE WORST also makes it a key part of the EP’s six-song sequence.
“EGO” brings together two distinct contributions, with JeriQ’s raw delivery sitting at the centre of a rhythm-driven instrumental. The track is available on digital streaming platforms, including Spotify, YouTube Music, and Audiomack.
