Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer Pheelz turns his attention to money, ambition, and financial freedom on “Cash Rules Everything Around Us,” shortened to “C.R.E.A.U.” Released on October 16, 2026, the Afrobeats single arrived through Rii Collective under license to Hi-Way 89 Entertainment.
Running at 111 BPM, the track takes a laid-back musical direction, pairing groovy drums and soft percussion with layered synthesizers. Pheelz also plays the keytar, adding another layer to the arrangement, while Canadian R&B singer Shay Lia contributes soulful background vocals.
Pheelz co-wrote the song with Elijah Blake and Shanice Dileita Mohamed, with Nelson Kyle serving as co-producer. Rather than chasing a high-energy dance sound, the production maintains a steady rhythm that allows the song’s message to remain at the forefront.
“C.R.E.A.U.” explores the pursuit of financial independence, personal ambition, and the struggle to move beyond poverty. Its title echoes the well-known Wu-Tang Clan phrase “C.R.E.A.M.,” drawing a connection to hip-hop’s longstanding commentary on the importance of money and survival.
Through its restrained production and relatable subject matter, “Cash Rules Everything Around Us” offers a reflective take on the realities of chasing success, showing another side of Pheelz’s musical expression.
