DOUBLEGRACE teams up with fellow recording artist Ever Nwanne on “Ugom (Remix),” a vibrant Highlife collaboration that celebrates Igbo musical heritage through captivating guitar melodies and traditional rhythms. Released on November 2, 2026, under D.G Boys Entertainment, the new version gives the original song a refreshed sound while retaining its indigenous appeal.
Also known as Umuaka Chinyelu Egwu, the eastern Nigerian duo embraces the richness of southeastern Nigerian music, combining lively percussion, distinctive guitar arrangements, and Ogene-inspired elements. The production creates a traditional Highlife atmosphere while introducing a fresh collaborative dynamic through Ever Nwanne’s contribution.
In Igbo, “Ugom” translates to “My Eagle,” a phrase associated with admiration and appreciation. The song explores romantic themes, celebrating beauty, elegance, and personal worth. DOUBLEGRACE maintains its familiar musical approach, while Ever Nwanne adds another vocal layer that gives the remix a different character.
With its blend of indigenous sounds, Igbo expressions, and engaging musical arrangement, “Ugom (Remix)” offers another opportunity for listeners to appreciate the cultural influence of traditional Highlife in contemporary Nigerian music.
