Ugandan singer and songwriter Joshua Baraka joins forces with Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Tiwa Savage on “Commando,” an Afro-fusion single officially released on October 29, 2026. The collaboration brings together two distinctive African music talents, blending their individual styles into a smooth and energetic record.
Self-produced by Joshua Baraka, “Commando” combines atmospheric drum patterns with his expressive vocals and Tiwa Savage’s captivating melodic delivery. Their contrasting performances complement each other, giving the song a refreshing sound while connecting the musical influences of Uganda and Nigeria.
The release follows growing online interest sparked by a preview that surfaced earlier in October. After the snippet attracted attention, Joshua Baraka brought forward the release date, making the full collaboration available to listeners sooner than initially planned.
Beyond being a standalone single, “Commando” marks the second official release from Joshua Baraka’s forthcoming seven-track EP, Recess II, issued on November 12, 2026.
With Tiwa Savage adding her distinctive touch, “Commando” by Joshua Baraka featuring Tiwa Savage offers an exciting cross-border collaboration ahead of the upcoming EP.
