American gospel legend Kirk Franklin brings Nigerian hitmaker Davido into his musical world on “Hope In You,” a collaboration that merges gospel-inspired sounds with the vibrant pulse of Afrobeats. The song appears on Franklin’s upcoming album, I Am What I Am, adding an international dimension to the project.

The record draws on Franklin’s choir-led gospel style while incorporating the rhythmic energy that defines contemporary African pop. Davido contributes his vocals to the arrangement, creating a meeting point between gospel music and Afrobeats without limiting the collaboration to either genre.

The project also brings together Franklin and several other artists, including GloRilla, Jelly Roll, and Tobe Nwigwe, showcasing the range of musical partnerships featured across the album.

The collaboration with Davido further broadens the project’s sound, connecting Franklin’s gospel background with one of Nigeria’s prominent Afrobeats voices. Their partnership offers listeners a different combination of musical influences while highlighting the possibilities of bringing artists from distinct genres together.
