Ghanaian rap icon Sarkodie teams up with award-winning singer KiDi on “Deja Vu,” a romantic Afro-R&B and Hiplife single released on October 16, 2026, through Ziiki Media. The song serves as the lead single and title track of Sarkodie’s forthcoming five-track Deja Vu EP, scheduled for release on November 27, 2026.
On the record, Sarkodie takes a reflective approach to love, addressing past mistakes and accepting responsibility for the hurt caused in his relationship. His verses move between English and Twi as he expresses regret and a desire to rebuild the relationship, with marriage also forming part of his commitment.
Running for 3 minutes and 57 seconds, “Deja Vu” blends the melodic appeal of Afro-R&B with elements of Hiplife and Afrobeats. Rather than focusing on a party atmosphere, the collaboration centres on vulnerability, accountability, and the fear of repeating painful experiences.
As the title track of Sarkodie’s upcoming project, “Deja Vu” offers listeners a look at the romantic and introspective direction of the EP ahead of its full release.
