Nigerian rap heavyweight Olamide kicks off his next album era with “Burukutu,” a five-minute Afrobeats single released on October 20, 2026, through YBNL Nation and EMPIRE. The track leads his upcoming 14th studio album, Time & Space, which is scheduled for release on November 16, 2026.
Produced by Blaise Beatz, also known as iamblaisebeatz, alongside Eskeez On The Beat, the song takes a mellow route, built around smooth instrumentation and a steady rhythmic groove. Olamide delivers his verses in Yoruba, blending his familiar street-inspired style with relaxed cadences and references to his travels around the world.
The title draws from burukutu, a traditional West African alcoholic beverage, connecting the song to a laid-back, social atmosphere. Rather than relying on an aggressive beat, the production gives Olamide room to move between sharp lyrical delivery and an easygoing, celebratory mood.
“Burukutu” offers listeners an early glimpse into the sound of Time & Space ahead of the album’s arrival. The single brings together Olamide’s Yoruba rap identity and a smoother Afrobeats arrangement, keeping his vocals and storytelling at the heart of the record.
Released as the first offering from the forthcoming project, the song adds a new chapter to Olamide’s catalogue while setting the tone for his next full-length release.
