“Let go of these guys and find better talents out there”- man tells Don Jazzy

A netizen has adviced the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of one of Nigeria’s biggest music record labels Mavin record, Michael Collins Ajereh popularly known as Don Jazzy to let go of all the artists in his record label and look for better ones.

The netizen identified as Luxx King shared his thoughts via a post on X (formally called Twitter) while reacting to a post earlier made by the music executive.

Don Jazzy had earlier shared a video of one of his signed artists Bayanni, on set playing drums.

Reacting to the video, Luxx King asserted that all artists currently signed to the Mavins were not good enough and should be replaced.

He wrote:

“Let go of these guys and find better talents out there.”

However, quoting his tweet, Don Jazzy who seemed to have been pissed by the comment wrote back Luxx and encouraged him to focus on his house selling business while he runs his music business by himself.

Don Jazzy also reminded the netizen that they did not have to patronise each other for either of them to make sales.

He wrote, “Boss man concentrate on selling your houses that you know how to do let me sell my artists. You don’t have to buy from me just as I don’t want to buy your houses. E no mean say you no go see customer.”

But Luxx King could not ignore as he thought to share his thought and perhaps, expected to be heard and for his opinion to be acted upon.

He replied Don Jazzy’s advice with a highlight of those he considered good enough to be in the Mavins family and reiterated that Don Jazzy needed better artists than the ones he currently has in his record label.

According to him, the only talents in the Mavins record label were Rema, Ayra Starr and Rema.

He also added that Don Jazzy was feeling hurt by his words only because he had been told the truth.

He wrote, “The truth is bitter Egbon. The only real talents you have in your team ATM are Rema, Arya Star and Johnny Drille

“The rest are just a bit above average.”

However, Don Jazzy responded to the suspected realtor stating that he does not have any metrics to guage the critic’s houses placed for sale.

He wrote:

“No wahala sir. Me I don’t have the qualifications to rate your houses.🙌🏾”

Following the conversation, netizens took it upon themselves to share their opinions while asking what may be considered some pertinent questions.

A user identified as @nnanta_UC asked:
“So magixx and the rest are not talented?” He further wrote:

“There is something unique about this universe(life) everybody got their time…

“Look at Burnaboy now… African giant.
But 2015-16…Una no rate am…

“So Mr realtor life no get manual..”

Emeh Kingsley wrote: “You just listed the worst imo and this tells you how subjective music can be. Magixx is the best Mavin talent and you don’t tell a record label owner how to run his business! The most successful record label in the country at that too.”

Recall that recently, a photo of Rema and Ayra Starr had recently trended on the online space where a certain user asked if they were the only artists in the Mavins record label after Ayra was reported to have topped some charts in Spain.
