A gifted Kenyan singer and songwriter, Bensoul joins forces with Ywaya Tajiri on “Mariwana,” an intimate Afro-pop collaboration released on October 7, 2026, through Bensoul’s independent label, Lion of Sudah.
The new song explores passion, desire, and uninhibited romance, giving the collaboration a sensual and personal feel. Both artists lean into the theme throughout the record, creating a track centred on attraction and intimate connection.
Blending Afro-pop, Afro-fusion, and Alternative R&B, “Mariwana” pairs contemporary African rhythms with smooth vocal performances. The song moves between English and Swahili, adding a distinctly Kenyan touch to the production while keeping the focus on its romantic subject matter.
The collaboration sees Bensoul and Ywaya Tajiri explore a more mature side of their artistry, delivering a record designed around adult romance and desire. Released under Lion of Sudah, the track is distributed by Africori.
For listeners looking for a fresh Kenyan Afro-pop collaboration with an intimate edge, “Mariwana” offers a direct take on romance and desire.
