Ric Hassani, a Nigerian artist known for his melodic love songs recently said in an interview that most hit and trendy songs in the Nigerian Music industry tend to be the one without good lyrics and he said they are mostly not good songs,  he also shared his opinion on the afro beats genre. According to him, the current afrobeats songs realized these days do not have quality and that afro beat has lost its sauce over the years, comparing the hit songs of the olden days and the hit songs of today, he mentioned that back in the days the hit songs were songs with quality and better lyricism.

But the current  hit songs of these generation of singers are mostly wack and lack good lyrics, featuring on the channels tv programme ‘rubbing minds’ which is anchored by media personality Ebuka Obi Uchendu,  Ric Hassani said afrobeats is “Nigerian music”  our guys are the top 10 when it comes this genre  and because of that more people are getting in and i feel that is the more reason why the quality of music is dropping, according to Ric people are just joining the music industry to make money and get famous, it is no longer for the passion and love of it, and as a result these set of people do not give in their all into the craft but just hurriedly want to make money off it without delivering good music.

” back in the days hit songs were really cool music with good lyrics and depth, unlike now that everyone is just getting into the music industry and doing absolutely rubbish, back in the days it wasn’t like this, you hardly see a horrible song make it to the top back then, i feel like all of this is happening because we have been ranked the number one afrobeat singers for so long, everybody is just dropping what they want and throwing money behind it”

When it comes to lyrics and good vocals,Ric Hassani can be considered to be one of the afrobeat atist whose music has a lot of meaning to it, he is known for his hit singles ‘my angel, thunder, and Ngozi’ he has been in the Nigerian music industry since the  2009 and has a couple of good songs to his name, he has been nominated for several awards and has won so many of them too, including the prestigeous headies awards.
