A familiar Nigerian classic gets a fresh connection on FOLA’s “Crime,” an Afrobeats track featured on his sophomore album 9, also known as Striker. The song seemed officially released on October 9, 2026, as part of the 14-track project.

At the centre of “Crime” is a sample of 2Baba’s “If Love Is a Crime,” giving the record a direct musical link to the recognised classic. FOLA brings the familiar melody into his contemporary soulful Afrosounds approach, creating a new track around the sampled record.

Interest in the song had already started building before its official arrival, with a teaser circulating earlier in the year. FOLA later played the completed version for 2Baba, receiving his personal blessing and approval for the release.

“Crime” appears as the 11th track on 9, following “WAF” in the album’s tracklist. It forms part of the latter stretch of FOLA’s sophomore project while standing out through its connection to one of 2Baba’s known songs.
