Six times Big Brother Naija (BBN) reality TV show host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, has said many people played crucial roles in helping his entertainment career get to where it is today by advising him.

Ebuka stated this during a recent interview on the MENisms podcast where he spoke about his journey as a Tv host, about his career, marriage and family life.

According to him, it was his appearance on the first season of the big brother naija show that led to his career in the entertainment industry.

Recall that Ebuka was one of the 14 housemates who graced the first edition of the big brother naija reality TV show which happened in 2006. He finished in the 8th place and has since then, been the most visible member of the 2006 cast.

After the show, the TV host had reportedly signed endorsement deals with renowned telecommunications brands and has also hosted TV talk shows.

In the 2011 general elections, he hosted the first ever presidential debate and further went on to anchor the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA’s) talk show ‘rubbing minds.’ He was also the host of the first ever men’s show ‘men’s corner.’

In 2017 Ebuka was announced as the host of the second edition of the big brother naija show and has since then, been hosting the show.

According to him, he was not enjoying being a lawyer as he was tied down by brokenness until people close to him started telling him about his good looks and great voice. He said these motivated him to go for auditions and finally landed his first job with NTA.

He further explained that he did not get to the BBN show for money but financial challenges pushed him to settle for the financial benefits of the show.

While discussing his personal and marital life on the show, the tv host said he met his wife on twitter and has been married to her since 2015 with two kids.

He said he is from a family of 4 with a banker father and his mum who was a nurse. He had his secondary school education at Christ the king college in Abuja where he graduated in 1997 and then proceeded for a degree in law at the university of Abuja and thereafter proceeded to the Nigerian law school Bwari.

After 5 years working gap, he returned to school for his masters programme at the Washington college of law at the American university Washington DC.

He also spoke about parenting and the challenges that comes with a parent attributing it to his relationship with his two kids .

When asked if he has ever produced a show, the Tv host said he is one of the co producers of the prime videos travel series which stars him along side Nollywood actors Timini Egbuson, Zubby Micheal and others.

He further shared more insights on the show describing it as an adventurous exploration of Africa and its gems. He added that the show has hit top 10 in 26 countries and number 1 in 7 countries and number 4 in khazakstine.

Questions concerning the upcoming big brother naija were also asked but the host said he is never part of the planning but assured the podcast hosts that it would be a very exciting season. Before leaving the show Ebuka left the audience with an advice to always try new things and find  what they are good at.
